Some of my favorite photos of Linda (from Barbara)
This first one is at the Tiki House but I don't remember when
This photo is at our house in El Cerrito, but I don't remember exactly when (somewhere between 1980 and 1982, I think), or why we were posing this way (maybe a bathroom break was needed?).
Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, when our group got together, we called the weekends "His Hair was Perfect" weekends, and, of course, had t-shirts made. This photo is from one of those weekends (note the matching t-shirts).
And then there was the Thanksgiving at the Tiki House, called "Tiki Turkey", with t-shirts
For Tommy's 60th birthday, we planned a surprise party. The group flew to France and made their way to a house I rented; Peter, Miranda, Tommy and I were to join them and Tommy was supposed to be surprised that the group was there. Before we could go from London to France, Tommy ended up in the hospital and we couldn't travel. The group made this wonderful birthday card, then spent a gob of money to come to England and surprise Tommy there. It was a fabulous weekend.
Tommy and I met in 1978 on a blind date set up by Skip. We lived together for several years before deciding to get married, on the spur of the moment, at the Arlington County Courthouse. Here's the wedding party.
I think this photo was taken at Phyllis Link's 100th birthday party (but it could have been her 104th). Just relaxing, enjoying...
Linda the trickster loved, loved, loved to plan and take part in "tricks". For one of Skip's big birthdays (maybe 55?), she told him that they would be celebrating at the Tiki House. She even bought plane tickets to Marathon. But she also bought tickets to Lisbon (we were living in Portugal then). Tommy and I picked up Skip and Linda at the Lisbon airport; Skip was still shaking his head. We got out of Lisbon, found a quiet spot, and opened that bottle of champagne.
On the way to our house in the Algarve, we stayed the night at the small castle (now hotel) we had discovered. The castle was authentic, had a moat and these wonderful tower windows.
Not sure what Linda and I were doing but seems like we enjoyed ourselves (maybe Skip and Tommy were moving too slowly for us...).
